Pray fr Japan

EAST JAPAN DISASTER RELIEF FUND(Rescue, Relief, Recover)
When we saw how the tsunami destroyed cities and swept so many lives away, we were in disbelief and felt absolutely powerless to help. We could only watch and pray for them.
Then we changed our daily activities, like limiting the use of lights/heaters and unplugging appliances to save electricity; instead of stocking up on food, we only bought what we needed for the day, so the survivors in East Japan could have these commodities.
However, it wasn’t enough, and we wanted to help more. So we thought about doing what we can ... together with Shodo.
Shodo (Japanese calligraphy) is an ancient art that allows emotions to be expressed not only by words but also how it is written.

Our students ranging from children to adults, discussed about how we could use Shodo to raise funds to help. Out of the many ideas suggested, making coasters to raise funds for charity was agreed upon.
Since we practice Shodo a lot, we have plenty of art work which has yet to be displayed in public.
So we selected some of our work to be turned into coasters, with special messages written on them signifying hope and spirit to the people in East Japan.
Thank you for donating to the East Japan Disaster Relief Fund. In this overwhelming sea of sadness, your support will bring smiles & relief across Japan.
